The operational planning process translates your organization’s high-level strategic goals into short term milestones and actions. Operational plans are often structured around a 12 month—quarterly calendar, to track and report progress against established strategic goals and objectives.
Purpose:
The Operational Planning Session is intended to assist your executive teams in leading an internal operational planning process and creating a plan document that is based on your organisation’s unique vision and priorities.
Considering your organization’s contribution or funding framework, the operational plan determines how budgets and resources will be allocated, and lay’s out the activities and timelines needed to achieve strategic goals and objective for each program or activity under your authority.
Objectives:
Translate high-level strategic priorities into specific, achievable program objectives;
Define the budgets and resources necessary for completing specific activities;
Set deadlines for achieving operational milestones and deliverables;
Identify potential constraints and creating contingency plans;
Clarify Roles and assign responsibility to ensure accountability.
