Healing and Restorative Relationships

In Canada, nearly 8 in 10 victims of police reported intimate partner violence are women and girls. Indigenous women are especially at greater risk of being sexually assaulted by their intimate partners and are more likely to have experienced severe and potentially life-threatening forms of violence.

Interspecies communication bridges the gap between humans and the animal kingdom. By learning to understand animals through their body language, vocalizations, and signals, we deepen our empathy for animals and wildlife, and promote animal and human well-being.

A secure attachment style is characterized by comfort with intimacy, trust, high self-esteem, and effective emotional regulation. Securely attached individuals are comfortable with independence, easily build meaningful relationships, and communicate needs directly. A person that exhibits a secure attachment style feels secure, safe and rarely fears abandonment or jealousy. People with secure attachments trust their partners, communicate openly and feel secure in their relationships.
